Born in Brazil, native of São Paulo and living in Paris since 1984, Silvano Michelino has accompanied a host of international and Brazilian artists: Paulo Moura, Chet Baker, Ray Lema, Cesaria Evora, Zachary Richard.
Percussionist, arranger, producer and composer, he has written music for films, ballet, commercials and production music. In 2001, his group Tupi Nago won the KORA MUSIC AWARDS in the category "Diaspora of Latin America", the most prestigious African music award. From ancient to modern, the diversity of the instruments employed on "Skin Colours" (CEV 4042) creates a fascinating musical panorama spanning the tropical rainforests, the sprawling pampas and the urban jungle.
